Turf Tails: Painting Pink for #PinkOut

Mizzou Turf Manager Josh McPherson shares how painting the field of Walton Stadium with pink ribbons and unveiling a pink Tiger head has special meaning to him. McPherson lost his mother Helena to breast cancer three years ago, just after she was recognized as an honorary coach during the 2011 Pink Out game.

Breast Cancer Awareness – Savvy’s Story

Breast cancer has impacted the lives of several athletes and staff throughout the years. Freshman forward Savvy Trujillo sat down to share how her mother Stephanie continues to battle the disease.

It was truly heartwarming for me to interview Savvy for this piece. I was honored that she was so willing to open up about her and her family’s experience with breast cancer and was comforted that she trusted me to tell her story.

Senior Day 2014

Mizzou Soccer honored its three senior athletes McKenzie Sauerwein, Kaysie Clark and Taylor Grant during its Senior Day ceremony before the Tigers hosted Alabama on October 19, 2014. This video was shown at Walton Stadium highlighting the seniors’ greatest moments of their final season as Tigers.
